My Story

Over the past year, I've come to the realization that the big house I'm living in doesn't fit my lifestyle any longer.

I'm about to embark on a really exciting journey and build a straw bale home. My goal is to build a home that meets the following needs
Size - I want the smallest house that I can be comfortable in. I want to do away with the rooms I have in my current house, but don't use - living room, dining room, game room and media room. I'm thinking 1800 - 2000 square feet. I'm also going to need a studio/workshop and carpart.
Material - I want to build a post and beam straw bale home. The combination of green and efficient is very attractive. I plan to have tin roof. I want to focus on green building as much as possible.
Design - I love the interior look of post and beam straw bale. I would like the exterior to look more traditional. It's hard to explain, but many of the homes I see look like they were done by amatures to save money. I want a finished look.
